AUGUSTA

The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will issue 34,160 “Any-Deer” permits for wildlife districts covering the southern coast and other areas of the state.

The permit allows the killing and registering of one antlerless deer.

Permits will be issued for wildlife management districts 20-26 and 29, comprising Maine’s southern and Midcoast area as well as districts 12, 13 and 15-17, covering central portions of the state.

This year’s applications are due online by Aug. 15 for the deer season beginning Oct. 29 through Nov. 24.

Maine Residents Only Day will be Saturday, Oct. 27, and Youth Deer Hunting Day will be Saturday, Oct. 20, where youth can take a buck statewide or an antlerless deer only in wildlife management districts where any-deer permits will issued this fall.
