YARMOUTH — DeLorme, an innovation leader in personal satellite messaging, tracking and navigation technology, recently announced the release of an upgrade to its World Base Map product.

“The new World Base Map release is a reflection of DeLorme’s commitment to accuracy,” John Auble, DeLorme vice president, data products and HA/DR programs, said in a news release. “As a data contributor to ArcGIS Online, we realize that Esri users rely on our maps for mission critical operations around the world, and we are committed to ensuring this community has the most accurate and complete pole-to-pole topographic map database.”

Upgrades in the World Base Map 2012 edition include more roads and railroads, more rivers and streams, elevation data updated to reflect changes in ocean and inland lake shorelines, updated airport information and the latest country and administrative district boundaries.
