Community Foundation elects three to its board

The Maine Community Foundation has elected Anna Roosevelt of Embden, Peter Mills of Cornville and Karen Stanley of Castine to its board of directors.

Roosevelt joined Goodwill Industries of Northern New England as CEO in September 2011 after 10 years at the Boeing Co., where she was vice president of global corporate citizenship. Before working in the aerospace industry, she held positions in the nonprofit, higher education, and government sectors. She is a board member of Net Impact, a national student organization, is chair of the Roosevelt Institute’s board, and is an advisory board member for the Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies.

Attorney Mills is executive director of the Maine Turnpike Authority, a founding member of the Somerset Economic Development Corporation and FirstPark, an innovative economic development project of the Kennebec Regional Development Authority. He served in the Maine Legislature for 16 years, in both the House and Senate, and held Republican leadership positions on a number of committees.

Stanley is chair of Camden National Bank and was co-owner of Stanley Subaru in Ellsworth. She was previously a member of the senior management team at Priority Management, an international training and development firm. She received the 2004 Corporate Citizen of the Year award from the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce. Stanley has been involved with community and civic organizations, including Hospice of Hancock County and Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. She is chair of the Maine Community Foundation’s Hancock County Committee.
