BATH — Frank Rose will present “AncestryLibrary.com, a Subset of Ancestry.com” on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon in the Patten Free Library community room.

In his slide-show presentation, Rose will explain the basics of this genealogical tool available in all Maine public libraries. The workshop will engage participants in an exercise designed to make use of many of Ancestry’s resources. Participants should bring their own laptops; a few PFL laptops will be available.

To pre-register, call 443-5141 ext. 18; leave message, including name and phone number.

Rose’s workshop is part of the History Room’s efforts to reach out to community members increasingly interested in tracing their family roots. The room includes a number of resources, among them are the archives of Bath Historical Society and West Bath Historical Society, microfilmed local newspapers dating back to the mid-19th century, Sagadahoc County Federal Census records, histories of Bath homes (supplied by Sagadahoc Preservation Inc.), Dr. Holt’s genealogical summaries, maps, and more.

The room is open from 12:30 to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
