OLD TOWN — Ethan Swedberg rushed for 218 yards and two touchdowns and Braden Upshaw ran for 115 yards and three scores as Old Town High School won its first game for first-year head coach Nick Arthers, 36-28 over Morse on Friday.
Morse dipped to 2-4 and is scheduled to host 6-0 Mt. Blue Saturday afternoon (1 p.m.).
Swedberg, who carried the ball 31 times, scored on runs of 19 and 54 yards, and Upshaw cashed in on runs of two, nine and 40 yards. Upshaw had 17 carries.
Old Town built a 36-14 lead and withstood a late rally by the Shipbuilders.
D’Vaughn Myers ran for a pair of touchdowns for Morse, and caught a 70-yard TD pass from Kevin McKellar.
McKellar also threw a 25- yard TD pass to Keegan Drouin.

After spending the first two weeks notching road victories, the Hyde School football team debuted in the friendly confines of Phoenix Field and chalked up a victory over the Vermont Academy Wildcats.
The 3-0 Phoenix used a power running game and a tough physical defense to race to a 26-0 halftime lead.
Backs Steven Dwight and Terry Norris paced a running game that totaled 359 yards on 31 carries. Norris rushed for 138 yards on nine carries and two touchdowns, while Dwight tallied 143 yards on eight carries and two TDs.
Omar Harris ran for 40 yards on seven carries, while Peter Lin chipped in 28 yards on four rushes and turned in one of the most exciting plays of the day when he fielded an onside kick and returned it 50 yards for a score.
Hyde quarterback Evander Lenardson controlled the tempo of the Phoenix offense, while Cody Baker and Troy Jones delivered key downfield blocking that helped to spring several long runs.
Steady front line contributions also came from Noah Willert, Aaron Leffert, Austin Mackris, Zack Messina, Jack Howarth, Zack Mann, Ryan Cassidy and Ben Burlock.
Hyde’s next game is this upcoming Saturday at home against Portsmouth Abby (3 p.m.).

Freeport wiped out a 7-0 deficit with 21 straight points in the second quarter en route to a dominating Campbell Conference win over the 0-6 Rebels on Saturday.
Freeport improved to 3-3 and hosts Winthrop this Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
James Purdy ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more to lead the Falcons, who also scored 21 points in the third quarter.
Purdy opened with a 1-yard run, and his kick tied the game at 7-7. Purdy added an 18-yard scoring run and Dan Burke supplied the 2-point conversion run.
Purdy then hit Burke with a 4-yard TD pass to give the Falcons a 21-7 edge at the half.
In the third quarter, Burke scored on a 6-yard run (Purdy added the conversion run), Purdy hit Joe Nixon with a 5- yard pass (kick blocked) and David Scheadler ran it in from 12-yards out, with Purdy adding the point-after kick.
Burke wound up with 24 carries and 186 yards, Ben MacMillan added seven carries for 64 yards and Nixon had four catches for 84 yards.
Purdy was 7-of-14 for 101 yards.
Defensively, Burke had an interception and 48-yard return, and Evan Bertrand led the way with seven tackles.
