BRUNSWICK — A new weight loss program is scheduled to be held outdoors, rain or shine, for six weeks beginning Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Nathaniel Davis Park on Pleasant Street.
The boot camp program, held by fitness specialist Jameson Skillings, is for adults of all fitness levels and designed to burn fat and build muscle by keeping heart rate levels high and focusing on muscular fatigue.
The class will utilize sandbags, plyometrics, strength, power, mobility, flexibility and stretching to maximize performance. Modifications will be provided for all exercises necessary. Nutritional consultations will be offered at the conclusion of each class.
The program rate is $75, while the drop-in rate is $15.
Skillings holds a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from the University of Maine and is a certified behavioral health professional. He currently works as a fitness specialist for a weight loss program in Augusta.
