To the Editor:
As for now and for the foreseeable future, Maine lobster boats run on diesel fuel or gasoline. Our fishermen struggle against daunting environmental and other big government regulation while trying to provide for their children. They also pay huge sums for fuel because of the anti-oil mindset that politicians like Angus King have that really hurts hard-working fishermen.
Without our own drilling on federal lands and off shore, we will remain beholden to Middle East oil. When, not if, there is war in the Middle East, the lobsterman’s fuel price will put him or her out of business if we do not have our own. It is that simple. I apologize for the deluge of common sense.
Mr. King, you’re a nice guy to say hello to in the neighborhood. However, under President Obama we have seen billions upon billions wasted of failed “green energy” ideas. Until you have an economically-viable green way to run a lobster boat, we need you out of the way of what does work for working fishermen.
No sir, this blue collar guy and my fishermen friends will not be voting for you.
