PORTLAND — Official election results show Jimal Thundershield defeated Marjorie Phyfe by just a dozen votes in the Nov. 6 balloting for a seat on the Peaks Island Council, according to official results released by the city.

According to results released Friday by the city clerk’s office, Thundershield won the one-year seat 318-306, a margin one vote larger than indicated by the unofficial results released on election night.

There is no automatic recount mechanism for city elections, and neither candidate has requested a recount, the clerk’s office said Tuesday.

Incumbent Mary Anne Mitchell and Cheryl Miner were both elected to fill two three-year seats on the Peaks council. Mitchell received 441 votes, while Miner received 322.
