BRUNSWICK — John “Jake” Thomas Riley Horgan, 26, formerly of Stowe Lane, Brunswick, died Dec. 6 at his home in Olympia, Wash.

He was born Nov. 10, 1986, in Boston, the son of Matthew D. Horgan, of Bath, and Patricia L. Riley, of Brunswick.   

Horgan attended the St. John’s School, Brunswick High School and Green Mountain College before graduating from Evergreen State College in 2010. He enjoyed a semester in India at the Auroville Ecovillage.

Horgan loved music, attending concerts, camping, hiking and snow-boarding. He also enjoyed boating with his friends on Casco Bay. He especially loved his black Labrador retriever, Riley. 

Besides his parents, Horgan is survived by a brother, Patrick Liam Horgan, of Brunswick; his paternal grandparents, Timothy and Lois Horgan, of Venice, Fla.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral was held Dec. 17 at St. John the Baptist Church-All Saints Parish in Brunswick.
