BOSTON — Kaitlin Donahoe hit the game-winning shot on a baseline drive with nine seconds remaining to lift the Bowdoin College women’s basketball team over the Emmanuel College Saints 65-63.

The Polar Bears improved to 7-4 with the road victory. The Saints fell to 8-4. Bowdoin is 9-3 against the Saints over the past 10 years.

Donahoe posted a gamehigh 26 points for the Polar Bears and topped her season best, set three days ago. Donahoe went seven-of-14 from the field and 10-of-13 at the line to lead the Polar Bears.

Anna Prohl accounted for 18 Bowdoin points and nine rebounds.

Fiona O’Dwyer had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Saints.

The Saints used a 13-1 run for a 19-7 first-half lead. The Polar Bears chipped away, cutting their deficit to 30-24 at the break.

Bowdoin opened the second stanza on a 9-3 run. A baseline 3- ball by Sara Binkhorst and a jumper by Kristen Prue made it a twopoint game at 33-31. Prohl laid one in off an inbounds play to tie the game, and a 3- pointer moments later by Donahoe gave the Polar Bears their first lead, 39-38.

The game went back-andforth, with Bowdoin claiming a 63-54 lead. Emmanuel stunned the Polar Bears with a 9- 0 run to tie the game at 63 with 21 seconds remaining.

A layup from Donahoe and defensive rebound from Binkhorst capped the victory for Bowdoin.

Both teams struggled from the free- throw line, with Emmanuel making just nine of 20 opportunities, with Bowdoin going 16 of 29.

Bowdoin will host Tufts University on Friday night at 8 p.m.
