GORHAM — The Hyde School-Bath indoor track teams competed in its first meet Friday at the University of Southern Maine.
Competing in the Western Maine Conference Indoor Track League, the Phoenix men and women both finished eighth.
The Greely girls won with 231 points, and Hyde had five, while the York boys won with 176 points with the Phoenix garnering 31 points.
Theboys4x800-meter relay team (Cody Mitchell, Griffin Palola-Harriman, Alexi Philippoussis and Zach Leighninger) started things off with a bang by winning the event with a time of 9:19.64, over 20 seconds faster than last year.
Also earning scoring honors were Julia Jackson in the 400 (fifth, 1:08.98), Maddy Preece in the 400 (sixth, 1:09.46), Alexi Philippoussis in the Junior Division boys 400 (fifth), Junior Division shot put (third) and pole vault (sixth), Andrew Davis in the Junior Division 400 (fourth) and the Junior Division 200 (second).
Hyde’s next meet is Wednesday at Phillips Andover (3:30 p.m.), followed by another Friday WMC meet at USM at 6:30 p.m.
