BRUNSWICK — Mechanics Savings Bank, a Maine-based mutual savings bank founded in 1875, recently announced its expansion into the Mid-coast region with the hiring of a new commercial lending and private banking team.

Plans are in the works for the opening of a Business and Private Banking Center in Brunswick at Brunswick Station, 16 Station Ave., during the first quarter of the year.

The new center will serve businesses and professionals, and will be modeled after the successful establishment of the Business and Private Banking Center in Auburn five years ago.

Earle Harvey has been named senior vice president, commercial lender; Bob Davis is the Mid-coast region’s business development officer; Charlie Ault has been named vice president, residential lending officer; and Ashley Levesque is the Business and Private Banking Center administrative assistant. The team has joined Mechanics Savings Bank from Border Trust, where they all worked together for a number of years.

“We were very fortunate to find such an experienced banking team that was looking for the opportunity to continue to serve the Mid-coast market,” said Richard Vail, Mechanics Savings Bank president. “This is a talented group of bankers who are ready to deliver our brand of relationshipbanking to clients. The growth potential is very exciting.”

Mechanics Savings Bank offers a complete line of commercial, business and consumer banking products and remains committed to serving Androscoggin and Cumberland counties. For more information, visit www.mechanicssavings.com.
