GEORGETOWN — Gloria A. Kingsbury, 66, of Whites Cove Lane and Lynn Haven, FL died on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick after a short battle with cancer.

She was born in Bath on October 24, 1946, a daughter of Allen A. and Velma J. (Barnes) Swain. She attended Bath schools and Morse High School. On September 21, 1963 she married Larry Lee Burnham.

Over the years Gloria raised her family and owned and managed several rental properties. She had a passion for helping people especially the elderly and had been employed at the Hill House Assisted Living in Bath, The Bath Nursing Home, and at Sky-Hy in Topsham as activities director.

On December 29, 1984 she married her lifelong partner Bruce H. Kingsbury.

She was a current member of the Temple Baptist Church in Panama City, FL., and was proud to have been baptized on April 27, 2008 by her dear friend Pastor Donald Clough.

Gloria had many interests; she enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, crocheting, camping, crafts, a good lobster feast, playing cards and Bingo, going to the Casinos and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Gloria was predeceased by her infant son, Michael Scott Burnham in November of 1965.

She is survived by two daughters, Carollee Barrington of Brunswick and Terri L. MacMahan and her husband Todd of Georgetown, one son, Thomas A. Burnham of Augusta, one brother, Allan Swain Jr. and his wife Kathy of Edgecomb, one sister, Linda Rau and her husband Dan of West Bath, 8 grandchildren; Matthew Larry Barrington, Mason Allan Barrington, Courtney Snyder, Janna Brooke White, Anthony Michael Burnham, Tristan Lewis Alexander Burnham, Thomas Lynn MacMahan and Ava Gloria MacMahan and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Barry Moore officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Kennebec Tavern in Bath. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath in the Spring.
