BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin College men’s squash team closed out its dualmatch season with a flourish, capturing five wins over the weekend, including a thrilling 5-4 road win against 18th-ranked Brown on Sunday.

The 19th-ranked Polar Bears finished their regular season with an 11-8 record and will compete in the New England Small College Athletic Conference championships at Trinity this upcoming weekend.

The tournament schedule will be released on today.

Bowdoin opened its weekend with a quartet of convincing wins at its host Invitational, the Maine Event. The Polar Bears cruised past Tufts, 8-1, on Friday before notching a trio of 9-0 shutout wins on Saturday over Boston College, MIT and Boston University. Bowdoin rounded out its weekend with its win at Brown.

Seven Polar Bears earned perfect 4-0 records at the Maine Event competition, including Stephan Danyluk, William Fantini, Matthew Cooper, Reid Wilson, Maxwell Bearse, Will Winmill and Alex Reisley.

In their exciting win against Brown, the Polar Bears got early wins from Fantini at No. 3 and Bearse at No. 6 before Danyluk carded a point at No. 2. With the match tied at 3-3, Bowdoin won a pair of 3-1 victories at No. 4 from Cooper, with Andrew Ward taking the clincher at No. 7.
