The talk “Prostate Cancer: The Emotional Journey” will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mid Coast Hospital conference rooms 1 and 2.

Maine Coalition to Fight Prostate Cancer president Terry Kungel will discuss the medical and emotional issues and the medical choices associated with prostate cancer.

Spring Senior Expo

The Spring Senior Expo will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Maximilian Kolbe Hall, 150 Black Point Road.

The event will feature 10 Experience Rooms, including high-tech home safety gear, diabetic hand care, music therapy, senior skin care, life history recordings and pet therapy.

There will be more than 40 booths, 12 speakers and several demonstrations.

A representative from the Maine Master Gardeners Program will speak on the importance of soil analysis and will give an overview of the Master Gardening course.

Tom Allen on Congress

Former Democratic U.S. Rep. Tom Allen will be at Falmouth Memorial Library at noon Friday to talk about his new book, “Dangerous Convictions: What’s Really Wrong with the U.S. Congress.”

‘Cooking for Crowds’

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Cumberland County is accepting sign-ups for a “Cooking for Crowds” food safety training workshop it will offer from 1 to 5 p.m. March 26 at the University of Maine Regional Learning Center, 75 Clearwater Drive, suite 104.

Extension educator Kathy Savoie will lead the session designed for volunteer quantity cooks.

Student clothing designs

Students in the fashion marketing program at Portland Arts and Technology High School will present Collection 2013, a fashion show of their original designs, at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Maine Mall’s Garden Court.

Tickets are $5 each and will be sold at the door. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Those attending should use the mall entrance between Macy’s and Ruby Tuesday’s.

Old House Trade Show

Greater Portland Landmarks will offer an Old House Trade Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Holiday Inn by the Bay, at 88 Spring St.

Featuring workshops, discussion sessions and over 40 New England exhibitors, the event will include experts to answer questions about products, services and energy efficiency tips for older homes.

Kindergarten information

The Wells-Ogunquit Community School District will hold an information night for parents who plan to enroll their children in kindergarten in the fall, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Wells Elementary School cafeteria.

Kindergarten registration will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 9 in the Wells Elementary School library.
