PORTLAND — The second Urban Runoff 5k will take place Saturday, April 20. The race celebrates Earth Day, which is April 22.
The race begins at 9 a.m. at Deering High School and winds through the surrounding neighborhoods and pieces of the Portland Trails system behind Evergreen Cemetery before popping back out onto Stevens Avenue and ending back at the high school.
At the end of the race, runners and walkers will be greeted by The Green Neighbor Family Fest, which will provide education about storm water pollution.
Online registration is available at www.urbanrunoff5k.com, but there will also be race-day registration from 7:30-8:45 a.m. at Deering High School.
