SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — University of Southern Maine senior Parker Chipman of Pownal earned All- ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) in the 800 meters during the final day of competition of the 2013 ECAC Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Springfield College.
Chipman came across the finish line in a time of 1:53.69 seconds to take the eighth and final scoring position in the 800. Chipman also picked up an All-ECAC honor on Thursday, running the anchor leg of the Huskies’ eighth-place 4 x 400-meter relay.
Chipmanandthe4x400- meter relay scored the Huskies two points. USM finished in a six-way tie for 55th place among the 65 teams that scored during the meet.
USM competitors will now wait to see if anyone makes the field for the NCAA Division III Championships that will be held beginning Thursday at the Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in LaCrosse, Wis.
