DRACUT, MA — Joan L. Hollingworth, formerly of Brunswick, Maine, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013, at her Dracut residence with her family by her side. She was 62.

She was born in Lowell on October 7, 1950, a daughter of the late Lillian (Boucher) and C. Earl Hollingworth.

Joan was a Registered Nurse specializing in geriatric care in the Brunswick, ME area. Joan had an incredible understanding of the aging process as she helped many people live and die with dignity. She was a spiritual person who was certified in Polarity Therapy, Reiki Healing, and practiced Buddhist chanting.

Joan loved the outdoors but most of all her children and grandchildren were the central part of her life.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Jonathan J. Dubois and his wife Helen McElwain of Los Angeles, CA, Nicole Finglas and her husband Michael of Wesport, Brooke Couto and her husband Jude, Josh Laflamme all of Dracut; four grandchildren, Kyleigh, Luke, Alana, and Shane; a sister Paula Babin of NC; a brother Jeff Hollingworth of NH; her former husband Roger Dubois of Dracut and Michael Laflamme of Freeport, ME; and her cat Sylvester. She was also the mother of the late Shane Dubois.

Relatives and friends may call at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell, MA, from 4 until 8 PM on Thursday. Her funeral services will be in the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private.
