WESTBROOK – The city’s new Presumpscot River Adventure debuts Saturday, June 1, when free kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals will be offered from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Riverbank dock, at the back of Riverbank Park, for Westbrook residents as part of Together Days.

Non-residents will pay the regular rental fees of $10 per hour for a kayak or stand-up paddleboard and $15 per hour for a tandem kayak. The first 50 renters will receive a free commemorative “I Rode the River” T-shirt.

Presumpscot River Adventures will have a tent set up at the left rear corner of Riverbank Park.

Beginning on June 5, rentals will be available at Riverbank park on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 4 to 8 and on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Standard kayaks and stand-up paddleboards can be rented for $10 per hour or $30 for a four-hour rental, and tandem kayaks will be $15 for an hour and $45 to rent the craft for four hours.

Additional new easy-access ramps and floating docks are located on Ash Street and across the river at Brown Street Community Gardens. All three are open from sunrise to sunset for those who want to paddle their own watercraft.
