May 31-June 1: SMART Child and Family Services will be holding an inside yard sale at its office, located on Route 115 (86 Tandberg Trail), from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The yard sale is a fundraiser to help support the events and activities for foster children. If any businesses or citizens have any items they would like to donate, the Program Committee would appreciate any and all donations. The items can be dropped off at the SMART office located at 86 Tandberg Trail, Windham. For questions or pick up of donated items, call Jo Bradeen at the SMART office at 893-0386.
May 31-June 2: Schoolhouse Arts Center will present “Guys and Dolls, Jr.” May 31 at 7:30 p.m., June 1 at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and June 2 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults $8 for students and seniors and $5 for children under 5. Schoolhouse Arts Center is located at 16 Richville Road (Route 114) in Standish, just north of the intersection of Route 114 and Route 35. Saturday, June 1: CROP For A Cause, A day of scrap booking to benefit the Brownfield Food Pantry, will be held at the Lions Club (at junction of routes 5 and 113 in Brownfield) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A $25 fee includes table and light lunch. Register early if you need electricity (only 12 spaces).
Other snacks and drinks will be available for small fee. 50/50 drawing, raffles, door prizes and giveaways. Registration deadline is May 15 for the best deal. After May 15, until full, price will be $35.

June 1: Rep. Christine Powers, D-Naples, will hold office hours at the fire station on Route 121 in Casco from 1:30-3 p.m. “As always, I’m looking forward to hearing from my constituents,” Powers said. “We’re entering the critical final stretch of this year’s legislative session, so I’m glad to have this chance to hear their ideas and answer any questions they may have.” Powers represents Casco, Naples and part of Poland.
June 1: North Gorham Public Library will hold its spring book and plant sale from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The library is on the corner of North Gorham Road and Standish Neck Road. There will baked goods for sale as well.
June 1: Shape-note singing is one of the oldest American musical traditions and the public is invited to a free shape-note concert and sing-along to be held from 1-4:30 p.m. at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26, New Gloucester.
June 1: A large full-size replica of the proposed New Gloucester Veterans’ Monument will be on display at the New Gloucester History Barn, Route 231, New Gloucester from 9 a.m. to noon. The monument contains nearly a thousand names of those who have served from New Gloucester in the military since the Revolution. Free and open to the public.
Tuesday, June 4: Windham’s Monthly Grief Support session, sponsored by VNA Home Health & Hospice, will be discussing “Guilt and Regrets” from 6–7:30 p.m. at North Windham Union Church, 723 Roosevelt Trail, Windham.
