SCARBOROUGH — The Maine Association of USA Track and Field is scheduld to hold its (15-18) Championship and Region 1 Qualifying meet for ages 7-8, 9-10, 11- 12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18 on June 22-23 at Scarborough High School.
The field events will begin at 9 a.m. and running events will begin at noon. The triathlon, pentathlon, heptathlon, and decathlon will be held on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. On Sunda, the heptathlon and decathlon will begin at 8 a.m.
Athletes who are still 18 years of age through July 28, are still eligible to compete in the Junior Olympic Program. Age group is determined by subtracting birth year from 2013.
Medals will be awarded to the top-three in the 15-18 age groups with championship patches to the winners. Ribbons will be awarded to the top six in the 7-14 age groups.
Individuals must be Maine USATF registered and can be obtained at the meet for $15. Entry fee is $6 for each event. Registration will begin one hour before the meet. All athletes are encourage to register online at www.coacho.com.
The top six individuals and relay clubs will qualify for the Region 1 meet to be held at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island July 5-6-7.
