FREEPORT — Bernard Hart Jr., 55, of Freeport, ME, passed away on June 8, 2013, in his home surrounded by friends and family after a year-long fight against cancer.
He was born on Dec. 11, 1957, in Brunswick, ME, to Evelyn Golding Hart and Bernard Hart Sr.
He is predeceased by his father Bernard Hart Sr. and his sister Merlene Tootsie LaRose.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Brenda Davis Hart and his children Leroy Hart and Laura Hart Baumli, both of Freeport. Brud also has 5 grandchildren: Samantha Hart, Logan Baumli, Lillian Hart, Dale Fogg and Dominic Hart. His mother Evelyn Brine and his siblings Paula Crochere, John Hart and Rosa Brawn.
He was an avid outdoorsman and he loved hunting and fishing. Bernard also spent 16 years coaching the little league team the Blackstones with his wife Brenda. The kids all loved him and he took many children under his wing continuing to see them long after they had left the team. He had a heart as big as a mountain and was always helping others. He will be missed by many.
There will be no funeral services as per Brud’s request, however, there will be a celebration of his life held at the Durham Amvets Hall on June 23 starting at 12 p.m.
