HARPSWELL — Celebrating its 24th anniversary this summer, Sebascodegan Artists Gallery in Harpswell will reopen for a new season of fine arts on June 29.
Nineteen local artists will exhibit paintings, sculpture and ceramics in a wide range of styles and techniques. The community is invited to join the artists for a reception on Friday, Aug. 2, from 5-7 p.m.
“Much of the work we show,” says Heather Gelwick, president of the cooperative, “celebrates the beauty of the Maine coast, whether it’s the sculpted form of a fish or duck, a stunning sunset, or a boat in harbor light.”
“Our artists each have a unique viewpoint that translates into a distinct style,” she continued. “Their art ranges from serene, atmospheric landscapes to abstract, interpretive forms. There’s something to please every artistic taste!”
Located on Route 24, the gallery will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Labor Day.
