To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to recognize the Sea Basket in Wiscasset for exemplary customer service.
This past weekend, while driving home from the lake, sun-filled and wanting to cook about as much as regrout a bathroom, we ordered takeout from the Sea Basket, as we would be cruising right by on Route 1. This worked out perfectly — the order was ready when we arrived and we were able to continue with our two sleeping children, the trip largely uninterruped.
So, with a great smelling vehicle we proceeded home. However, upon unpacking the meals we noticed that the order was not only incorrect, but contained items that one of us couldn’t consume.
Too far to return conveniently, we called to mainly, I thought, express dismay and vent.
It was with some dubious surprise we received an offer to deliver the correct order. Sure enough, a short time later, two delicious haddock baskets arrived, with much apology regarding the error.
That gesture is certainly going above and beyond, and deserves a public shout-out. Now, if only I could convince them to deliver routinely.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
