FREEPORT — Barbara “Bobbi” Pye Scott of Freeport died March 2, 2013, in Fort Myers, FL. She was born in Gardiner, the daughter of the late John and Doris Pye. She grew up in Gardiner and Augusta and was a graduate of Cony High School, class of 1952. There she was a member of the school orchestra and was first chair in the all New England Orchestra. She attended Eastman School of music, studying the cello.

Bobbi moved to Connecticut where she met and married Sanford W. Scott in 1956.

She enjoyed playing the cello in church services, weddings, special events, and church orchestras. Bobbi will be remembered for her kindness and sweet spirit, her deep faith, and her love of family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Sanford W. Scott; two children Dean (Emily) Scott of AZ and Sue (Larry) Scott Detweiler of Huntington, VT; a sister Patricia Clark of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren Scotty (Megan), David, DJ ( fiancé Kerry), Sarah, Megan, Jason and great-grandchild Eli. She was predeceased by her sister Jan Pye.

A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, July 13, 2013, at 11:00 at the First Baptist Church of Portland, 360 Canco Road, Portland, ME.
