TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School field hockey squad won its fifth straight Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference game Tuesday, 5-2 over Bangor.
The Eagles are 5-5 and visit Oxford Hills on Thursday.
Nellie Hetherington made three stops in the win, while Bangor’s Rachel Luc had 12 saves.
Mt. Ararat jumped out to a 3- 0 lead as Caitlin LaFountain scored two minutes in, Carly Raymond converted a Kristen Pierce feed at 4:02, and LaFountain (Raymond) found the back of the cage at 9:57.
However, Georgia Moir scored with 9:15 left and again with 7:39 remaining in the first half for a 3-2 game.
In the second half, LaFountain scored with 24:38 left and Eva Jermone made it 5-2 with 4:37 remaining.

In KVAC action Tuesday, the host Dragons fell to 1-9 and visit Bangor on Thursday.
Hampden led 3-0 at the half as Vaughn scored at 3:37 and at 4:22, and Martin added a goal with 6:48 left.
Freshman goaltender Anna Webster had 20 saves for Brunswick.

In KVAC play on Monday, Morse dipped to 1-9 and is scheduled to visit Belfast on Thursday.
Morse goaltender Bryanna Ringrose had 30 saves and was a game-long standout, while Korallei Fifield had several stops as well.
“My girls put up a fight all the way to the end,” said Morse coach Stephenie Pinkham.
Madeline Reny had two goals and three assists, and Nickyia Lovely chipped in with three scores for the 7-2 Tigers, while Abby Dunn and Ellen Kelley had two goals each.
