Last Saturday fans came to see their favorite drivers race, knowing there was only one week left of racing at Wiscasset Speedway.

On the agenda was the full lineup of both groups, and all divisions raced.

An awards ceremony recognized Hard Luck, Improvement, Sportsmanship and Best Average Finish. The Napa Driver of the Year was also crowned.

A quick straightforward race by the Thunder 4 division was first on the track for a 15- lap feature.

Starting in the pole position was Leandra Martin of Richmond, followed by Richmond’s Cody Tribbett and Ryan Chadwick of Wiscasset.

Early on, Dan Trask moved up from behind and passed Martin during lap four. On lap five, Chadwick pulled ahead on the inside going into turn four and eventually placed first, with Tribbett second and Trask third.

Next on the agenda was a 15-lap Mini Truck race. Starting on the pole was Gerry McKenna, with Matt Curtis and Roger Allard of Harpswell behind him.

Allard faltered during lap two, and Curtis maintained second with Kris Knox moving up. During lap seven Knox passed for first and Allard passed Curtis for third with McKenna second.

“It makes a race fun and exciting when you are racing from the back. I started from the back today, but I think I have a top-three truck here,” said Knox.

A 25-lap caution-free 4-Cylinder Prostock feature was next.

By the time lap five was completed, Dave Patten had sped ahead by nearly 10 car lengths and copped his first victory. Kamren Knowles placed second with Lisbon Falls’ Jeff Prindall third.

Up next was a 30-lap Prostock feature.

Starting at the pole was Adam Chadbourne of Woolwich, followed by Shane Lane and Eric Allyn. When the green went down, Billy Penfold pulled ahead of Allyn to take third. Charlie Colby chased down Chadbourne to take the lead during lap five. Mike Orr of Wiscasset was also in the hunt and during lap 19 he moved to the outside of Chadbourne and the pair fought for third. Chadbourne held him off for nine laps.

Colby took first, Penfold second and Orr third.

A 25-lap Outlaw Mini feature was next. Darrell Moore had the pole position, followed by Ryan Farrar and Tribbett.

Next on the schedule was a 35-lap Late Model Sportsman race.

Despite two cautions, the race was quick. Mike Orr of Wiscasset started on the pole, followed by Tyler Robbins and Nick Hinkley of Wiscasset.

During lap nine, Allan Moeller Sr. passed Orr for third. Moeller passed Robbins on lap 17 for second with Nick Jenkins in third. There was a caution during lap 32. Moeller attempted to pass Hinkley, but Hinkley managed to hold him off to the finish with Jenkins third — his first top-three finish.
