Carol was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Levine. She was born in Saco, on July 8, 1946, and grew up in Auburn, graduating from Edward Little High School, Class of 1964.
Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Gerry H. Parker, whom she married in 1982. They enjoyed 20 years of marriage and resided in Bethel and Sebasco Estates.
After high school, Carol attended Maine Medical Center’s School of Radiology and later worked for its Department of Radiology. In the early 1980s, she owned and operated Royal River Travel Agency in Yarmouth. She then co-owned and ran Cuddledown of Maine for five years with her husband. For the last 10 years, she cherished her job as assistant manager at Rock Gardens Inn, Sebasco Estates, where she warmly welcomed guests from near and far.
Carol had many interests and pursued them all with great enthusiasm, especially working in her beautiful gardens, following her passion for the arts, and taking care of her many animals. Carol looked forward to the summertime get-togethers with her extended family for the annual lobster bakes, birthdays, weddings and holidays. Carol wholeheartedly believed in helping others and in her free time she volunteered for the Maine Handicap Ski Program, Mt. Washington Observatory, and proudly stood with the Flag Ladies in Freeport. Carol loved reconnecting with old friends, and couldn’t wait for her upcoming 50th class reunion at Edward Little.
She is survived by her children, Mary Elizabeth (Litty) Parker and husband Martin Heaberlin, Philip Dana Parker and wife Jenny Parker, Julia Gage Parker and husband Daniel Davis; six grandchildren, Benjamin and Mallory Heaberlin, Dana, Grace, and Matthew Parker and Max Davis; and loyal, devoted friend Jerry Clemons.
We are grieved in her passing, but rejoice in our fond memories of her and the love she gave to so many.
There will be a celebration of Carol’s life this summer. Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland, ME 04106.
Donations can be made in Carol’s name to Phippsburg Volunteer Fire and Rescue, 1042 Main Road, Phippsburg ME 04562.
