BRUNSWICK — Southern Maine Community College will host a ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 to celebrate the establishment of the Hannaford Atrium and Hannaford Auditorium at the SMCC Midcoast Campus at Brunswick Landing.
The Hannaford Charitable Foundation pledged $500,000 to the Campaign for Maine’s Community Colleges.
Of this total, $200,000 was designated to support equipment and technology needs at SMCC’s Midcoast Campus.
In recognition of this significant gift, SMCC is permanently naming the two newly renovated spaces in the company‘s honor.
Members of the media are invited to attend the ribbon cutting and to hear brief remarks from Hannaford Vice President of Retail Operations Heather Paquette, SMCC President Ronald G. Cantor, Foundation for Maine ‘s Community Colleges President Beth Shorr, SMCC student Katie Wing and SMCC adjunct faculty member Kelly Purinton.
