TOPSHAM

There were no unexpected outcomes in uncontested races for the Board of Selectmen or School Administrative District 75 school board Tuesday.

Incumbent Marie Brillant will serve a second term on the board after garnering 1,008 votes. The second open seat on the Board of Selectmen will go to William Thompson, who received 893 votes.

Thompson ran against current Selectman Donald Russell in November 2012 and for an unexpired term in January but lost both bids for office. He has served on the town’s finance committee since 2009.

Re-elected to the school board were incumbents Scott McKernan with 971 votes and Holly Kopp with 957 votes. A total of 1,374 votes were cast — about 20 percent of Topsham voters.
