BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College senior linebacker Brian Glazewski has been awarded the New England Small College Athletic Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in a thrilling win over Colby on Saturday.
In his final collegiate game, Glazewski made nine tackles, including a sack and 2.5 tackles for loss, and recovered two fumbles. The second of his fumble recoveries came as time expired when Colby attempted to lateral the ball on a kickoff return in the closing seconds. Glazewski picked off the final Colby toss and ran it into the endzone, capping a chaotic ending to the 32-22 Bowdoin win.
Glazewski enjoyed the finest season of his career this fall, finishing second on the team and sixth in the NESCAC with 71 total tackles (8.9/game). He also had three sacks on the year.
With Saturday’s win over Colby, Bowdoin finished the season 3-5 and in a threeway tie for the CBB (Colby- Bates-Bowdoin) Championship.
