HARPSWELL — The town wants to spend $35,000 from its unassigned fund balance for ambulance coverage provided by Mid Coast Hospital.

The sum would be added to $123,000 the town has already paid for partial EMS coverage through March 2014, in order to provide residents 24-hour-a-day coverage.

Selectmen scheduled a special town meeting Dec. 7 at the Harpswell Community School for the vote.
