MILFORD, NH — Donalene Ulmer, 86, resident of Milford, NH, died on Nov. 23, 2013, at The Elms Care & Rehabilitation Center, Milford. She was born in Jonesport, Maine, on Oct. 25, 1927, a daughter of Lester and Agnes (Hayward) Crowley.

She made her home in Milford for the past several years and formerly lived in Dexter, Maine for many years. She and her late husband enjoyed wintering in Silver Springs, Fla., and Aiken, S.C.

Mrs. Ulmer was a homemaker for most of her life and was devoted to caring for and raising her two children. She was a talented artist who taught watercolor and oil painting. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, berry picking, golfing and was an avid bridge player.

She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Ralph L. Ulmer, who died in 2012.

Family members include her two loving daughters, Joanne Ulmer Burke of Nashua, NH, and Susan Ulmer-Mello and her husband, Jason Mello of Milford, NH; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorraine Wallace, Betty Beal and Joyce Alley, all of Maine; many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter, Maine.
