BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College women’s ice hockey sophomore Ariana Bourque has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Bourque led Bowdoin to two wins last week — a pair of 2-1 non-conference victories. She scored both Polar Bear goals in the final 5:27 of Tuesday’s win over UMass Boston, including the gamewinning goal with 11 seconds remaining in regulation. She then assisted on Madeline Lane’s game-winning goal with 2:10 remaining to give the Polar Bears a 2-1 triumph over Holy Cross on Saturday.
Bourque has scored three goals in four games so far this year for Bowdoin (3-2) and has tallied 11 goals and 10 assists in her career.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
