BOSTON (AP) — Authorities are investigating the weekend death of an inmate at a Boston jail.
A spokesman for the Suffolk County sheriff’s department says the inmate was found unresponsive just after midnight Saturday at the South Bay House of Correction. He was found by a guard making routine rounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Boston Globe reports that the inmate was identified as 28-year-old Rohan Blackwood of Boston. Blackwood was serving time for a conviction on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
