WELLS — Bennie McMinis pitched a no-hitter Friday, striking out 13 with one walk as Wells defeated Fryeburg Academy 10-0 in a six-inning Western Maine Conference baseball game.

Dan Quint finished with three hits, including a triple and a double, scored three runs and stole a base for the Warriors (2-0), who scored six runs in the sixth inning to close the game against the Raiders (0-2).

Cody Cousins added a two-run single and Nick Ramsey had two hits, including the game-ending RBI single.

BRUNSWICK 4, LAWRENCE 3: John Parker gave up one hit, four walks and hit a batter through six innings as the Dragons won at Brunswick.

Parker struck out five and also hit a double.

MARSHWOOD 4, BONNY EAGLE 2: Zach Hodges hit a two-run single in the seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Hawks in an opener at Standish.

Zach Quintal struck out 11 and walked one in a five-hitter for the Hawks, who scored the tying run on an error in the sixth.

Bonny Eagle took a 2-1 lead in the fifth on a single by Troy Bogdahn.

SOUTH PORTLAND 6, THORNTON ACADEMY 3: Jacob Brown drove in the eventual winning run with a two-run double in the fifth inning and finished with three RBI to lead the Red Riots in an opener at Saco.

Zach Marles scattered seven hits and struck out seven for the Red Riots. He also had two hits and drove in a run.

Ben Lambert, who hit a pair of doubles and drove in a run for the Trojans, struck out nine over six innings.

SACOPEE VALLEY 22, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 1: Anthony Haskell had two hits, scored four runs and struck out 10 over three innings to earn the win for the Hawks in a five-inning opener at Yarmouth.

Michael Pingree, Brady Anderson and Alex Fenderson also finished with two hits apiece for the Hawks. Pingree drove in four runs and scored three, Anderson had three RBI and three runs, and Fenderson drove in four runs and scored twice.

NOBLE 4, SCARBOROUGH 3: Mason Della-Piana and Joshua Schultz hit RBI singles during a four-run second inning for the Knights in an opener at Scarborough.

Corey Halliday gave up one run over six innings to earn the win.

Ben Greenberg had two hits, including a triple, and scored twice for the Red Storm.

WINDHAM 3, SANFORD 0: Spencer Hodge struck out nine and walked three while giving up two hits over six shutout innings to lead the Eagles (1-0) past the Spartans (1-1) at Sanford.

Tanner Laberge moved to third on a double by Alex Loftis in the fifth inning, and both scored on a suicide squeeze by Andrew Whiting.

Sanford starter Edward Michetti gave up one earned run on three hits with two strikeouts and one walk over 42/3 innings.

CHEVERUS 11, GORHAM 1: Mitchell Powers gave up one run on four hits, striking out 11 with two walks over six innings as the Stags won an opener at Gorham.

Chris Tinsman had two hits, including a triple, and scored three runs for the Stags. Felix Del Vecchio added two hits and drove in three runs.

Dylan Turner had two hits and drove in the run for Gorham.

MASSABESIC 11, DEERING 6: Sean Adams hit an RBI double during a three-run first inning and finished with four hits for the Mustangs (1-1), who never trailed against the Rams (0-2) at Waterboro.

OCEANSIDE 6, MEDOMAK VALLEY 0: Nick Mazurek had 13 strikeouts and one walk while pitching a no-hitter for the Mariners (2-0) against the Panthers (0-1) at Waldoboro.

Mazurek also hit a single that broke a scoreless tie and sparked a six-run fourth inning.

Thomas Curtis added a pair of hits.

LACROSSE

THORNTON ACADEMY 12, MARSHWOOD 0: Issac Sinclair had three goals and an assist to lead Thornton Academy (2-0) over Marshwood (0-2) at Saco.

The Trojans had eight scorers. Cody Falton finished with two goals and three assists, Zach Bryant scored two goals, and Taylor Browne had a goal and three assists.

Jack Grondin and Chris Camire combined for six saves in the shutout.

SCARBOROUGH 16, WESTBROOK 7: The Red Storm (2-0) went on a 5-0 third-quarter run to build on a 9-6 halftime lead and defeat the Blue Blazes (0-1) at Westbrook.

Alex LeBlanc finished with 21 saves for Westbrook.

CHEVERUS 17, DEERING 7: Nick Schleh had five goals and an assist, and Tom Lawson added four goals and three assists to lead Cheverus (1-1) over visiting Deering (0-1) at Portland.

The score was 3-3 with 5:29 left in the first quarter before the Stags finished the period with a 3-0 run and shut out the Rams 4-0 in the second to take a 10-3 halftime lead.

Jack Sutton finished with a goal and three assists, and James Kane added three goals for Cheverus. Alec Halpin had three goals for the Rams.

GORHAM 14, BONNY EAGLE 7: Colin Harvey scored five goals for the Rams, who pulled away in the second half of an opener at Gorham.

Tristan Brunet and Abraham Eaton each added three goals, and Eaton also had an assist for the Rams, who led 8-6 at halftime.

Ryan Kern led Bonny Eagle with five goals.

SOUTH PORTLAND 19, BIDDEFORD 1: Thomas Leddy scored seven goals to pace the Red Riots (1-0) past the Tigers (1-1) at Biddeford.

Jack Fiorini added four goals and three assists, and Andrew Whipple collected six assists.

Chipper Trottier scored for Biddeford.
