TOPSHAM — Harper Moutal drove in four runs with his first two varsity hits as the Mt. Ararat High School baseball team picked up an 11-5 win over Lewiston on Monday in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference action.

The Eagles, 1-6 and slated to visit Edward Little on Wednesday, pounded out 11 hits, with Moutal picking up a single and a double. Cam Cox (single, double) and Liam Brannigan (two singles) also had two hits, while Jacob O’Neil added his first varsity hit, an RBI double.

Kevin Carter went 6.1 innings on the mound, with six strikeouts and two walks. Dakota D’Orio finished, walking one Lewiston hitter.

“I think we picked up some confidence in the game against Brunswick, and you can see the whole dugout coming alive,” said Mt. Ararat coach Bob Neron. “I think this win will light a fire for us. We can’t wait until Wednesday.”

Nick Perreault led 4-4 Lewiston with two singles and a double. Austin Wing and Kyle Morin had two hits, with Gabe Cote adding a triple.

Trenton Moore, Andrew LaCavera and Dakota Jacobs each singled twice to lead the Shipbuilders to a KVAC Class B win over Mt. View at Kelley Field.

Moore drove in a run, scored a run and stole a base, while Zach Holbrook (two runs), Ethan Winglass (run, two walks, stolen base) and Andrew LaCavaera (run) paced the Shipbuilders offense.

Holbrook picked up the mound win, allowing two runs on two hits.

Nathan Wren pitched for the 2-6 Mustangs. He struck out two and walked five in his complete-game effort.

Mikey Hustus, Erick Larrabee and Wren each singled in the loss.

Morse is 6-2 and visits Belfast on Wednesday.
