My Place Teen Center has chosen Deanna Bennett, 12, as its June Member Spotlight. Member Spotlight is an opportunity for MPTC teens to be recognized by staff and their peers for their contributions to the My Place community. Deanna was selected because she has been super helpful and is always willing to volunteer to help with chores. She also is respectful to staff, and fun to be around. Here are a few questions Deanna answered about herself:

Q: What grade are you in?

A: I am in Mr. Brassard’s sixth-grade class at Westbrook Middle School.

Q: What is your favorite class?

A: My favorite class is social studies with Miss Bennett.

Q: How long have you lived in Westbrook?

A: I have been in Westbrook pretty much all of my life.

Q: Who do you live with?

A: I live with my mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, my brother and three sisters.

Q: How long have you been coming to the teen center?

A: About a year and a half.

Q: What are your favorite things to do at the teen center?

A: I like to hang out with my friends and participate in activities.

Q: What are your favorite things to do in your free time?

A: I like to hang out at the mall with my friends.

Q: What is your favorite teen center memory?

A: This winter we went snow tubing at Seacoast Fun Park. That was really fun!

Q: What are your favorite movies and music?

A: I love horror movies. My favorite music is hip hop, especially the song “Fancy,” by Iggy.
