
She was born in Topsham on Feb. 13, 1924, a daughter of Omar and Mildred Getchell Newell. She attended Brunswick High School and married Gerard Furbish on Dec. 9, 1939. Mr. Furbish died in 2010.
Mrs. Furbish drove school buses for MASD 75 for 19 years; later working in the Mt. Ararat High School cafeteria. She was a member of the Topsham Grange for 70 years. She had enjoyed fishing and camping on Sebago Lake for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband; three sons, Sheldon Furbish, Timothy Furbish, Gary Furbish; a brother, Raymond Newell; two sisters, Madeline Snipe and Beatrice Riendeau.
She is survived by a son Randall Furbish of Litchfield, ME; a sister of Smithfield, ME; eight grandchildren, several great- and greatgreat grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place 1 p.m. on Tuesday July 29, 2014, at Riverview Cemetery, Topsham. Memorial contributions can be made to Meals On Wheels, 35 Union St., Brunswick, ME 04011. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.brackettfuneralhome.c om.
