LEWISTON — Marion H. Hood, 78, a resident of Robinson Gardens, died unexpectedly Monday evening, May 26, 2014, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Detroit, Mich., July 18, 1935, the daughter of Edmund and Alice Fiedler.

Marion grew up and was educated in Pasadena, Calif., where she met her husband Robert Hood through mutual friends. Together they raised a family in Lewiston where Marion was active in the community. She served as former president of the Women’s Hospital Association at Central Maine Medical Center, was also active with her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi in Lewiston. She was professionally involved in real estate, and Hood’s Mailing and Printing.

Survivors include her husband, Robert of Lewiston, one son, Robert Hood Jr., of Portland, Ore., two daughters, Karen Hood and loving companion, James Francis of Lewiston, and Brenda Hood and husband, Brad Judson of Olympia, Wash.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one daughter, Nancy in 1970.

Memorial services honoring Marion’s life will be held Wednesday, June 4 at 2 p.m. at Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

Memorial donations in Marion’s memory may be made to either USM LAC Senior College, 51 Westminister St., Lewiston, ME 04240; Women’s Hospital Association CMMC, Main Street, Lewiston, ME 04240, or the Shriner’s Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
