BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Bruins have signed a deal with a developer for a new team practice facility within city limits.
Team President Cam Neely announced Tuesday that the Bruins have signed a letter of intent for a longterm lease with Boston Landing, a mixed-used development planned for the city’s Allston-Brighton neighborhood.
Construction on the facility, which also includes locker room, training and office space, is scheduled to begin next spring and be completed in the fall of 2016.
The 14-acre Boston Landing project includes new corporate headquarters for the New Balance shoe company, a commuter rail station, as well as office, retail, restaurant and hotel space.
The Ristuccia Memorial Arena in suburban Wilmington has served as the Bruins practice home since 1987.
