SACO — Mary Barbara Morin, 67, of Saco, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born on July 23, 1946 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Bert and Catherine (Boggio) Hillan.

She graduated from Ogden High School and later became a dietitian for St. Benedict’s Hospital and Layton Hospital in Utah.

She was very close to her sister, Beth, and her family. After Beth’s death in 1977, she took “Beth’s five kids” under her wings. She was always like a second mother to them.

Barbara married Norman T. Morin on June 14, 1980. In July of 1986, they moved to Norman’s home in the State of Maine. She worked as a dietitian at Mercy Hospital in Portland.

Barbara was a very active member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church and its E & L Club. She visited the sick and elderly and volunteered at soup kitchens and nursing homes.
