LOWELL, Vt. (AP) — Two of the 21 wind turbines at the Lowell wind project in Vermont are being worked on after they were struck by lightning recently.
Kristin Carlson of Green Mountain Power tells the Caledonian Record the turbines had blade damage from the lightning, which was noticed last week.
Lightning strikes happened during thunderstorms that swept through Vermont over the past two weeks.
The wind project is the largest in Vermont. It went online in December 2012.

It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
