She was born in Bath on Aug. 11, 1953, the daughter of Hilton F. and Dorothy A. (Bradford) Libby of Bath.
She graduated from Morse High School in the class of 1972. She was formerly employed at Holiday Inn and Winship Green Nursing Home.
Her life was enriched by caring for her beloved cat, Benji, and she enjoyed reading and staying in touch with her family. She loved music and she spent many hours listening to her favorites. She enjoyed cross stitch and made many rugs in her spare time.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Libby of Bath and a brother, Greg and his wife Kathleen of Romansville, Pa. A niece, Kelly Marvel and her husband Andy of East Fallowfield, Pa., and their daughters Lauren and Ashley and son Justin. A nephew, Andrew Libby and his wife Alecia of Phoenixville, Pa., and their daughter Bernadette. Other survivors include aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
Gayle was predeceased by her father, Hilton, on Oct. 13, 2011.
Funeral details will be announced at a later date. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Coastal Humane Society, 190 Pleasant St., Brunswick, ME 04011.
