PORTLAND — The Portland Sea Dogs (88-54) fell in their Eastern League regular season finale, 3-0 to the Harrisburg Senators (53-89) Monday afternoon at Hadlock Field.

The Sea Dogs finished 6-1 against last-place Harrisburg and will take on the Binghamton Mets in the first round of the playoffs beginning on Wednesday.

The Sea Dogs travel to Binghamton for Games 1 and before returning to Hadlock Field for the next three games. Game three is slated for Friday at 6 p.m., with the final two games, if necessary, on Saturday and Sunday.

Notes — The Sea Dogs announced their team awards on Monday. Former catcher Blake Swihart was named Most Valuable Player after hitting .300 with 23 doubles, 12 home runs and 55 RBIs before his promotion to Pawtucket.

Henry Owens was selected as the Pitcher of the Year after going 14-4 with a 2.60 ERA. Derrik Gibson won the 10th Player of the Year award, hitting .302 with 15 doubles, two home runs and 26 RBIs. And, Mike McCarthy was named the Citizen of the Year.
