Get informed about health care on Thursday, Oct. 16 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Wells Public Library. Robin Bibber and Celyn Reed, health care navigators from Nasson Health Care, will explain exactly what “Obamacare” is, how to compare health insurance plans, and how to enroll during open enrollment, which runs from Nov. 15 through Feb. 15, 2015.
A Lunch & Learn, “Cruising for Trash with the Rozalia Project” will be offered at Wells Reserve on Thursday, Oct. 16 from noon to 1 p.m. Katherine Sullivan served as a research intern aboard the “American Promise” during an expedition to find, track, collect and dispose of marine debris in the Gulf of Maine earlier this year. She was involved with two research topics through the Rozalia Project: dispersal and accumulation of marine debris, and bait fish population dynamics. Sullivan will describe her experiences in a multimedia presentation and discuss future solutions for marine debris that impact all aspects of Maine’s coastal ecosystems. There is a $2 suggested donation. For more information, call 646-1555 or go to wellsreserve.org. Wells Reserve is located at Laudholm Farm Road in Wells.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
