Democratic incumbent Sen. Stanley J. Gerzofsky won the three-way race for Maine Senate District 24.

Gerzofsy, of Brunswick, a 69-year-old furniture maker, won 47.1 percent of the vote. He has served in the Maine Senate for six years, and had previously served eight years in the Maine House of Representatives.

Challenger Jennifer L. Johnson of Brunswick, a Republican, won 34.3 percent of the vote.

K. Frederick Horch, a 44-year-old Green Independent and small business owner from Brunswick, won 17.4 percent of the vote. State Senate District 24 includes Brunswick, Freeport, Harpswell, North Yarmouth and Pownal.
