Portland firefighters responded to a fire at a coffee roaster on Quarry Road Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out at 9 a.m. in some coffee bean husks in a hopper at Kerry Company at 40 Quarry Road. The fire was extinguished when the husks were removed from a pipe and a small amount of water was applied, a department spokesman said.
The fire did not affect any beans. Kerry roasts beans for a number of coffee companies.
Nobody was injured and the last fire company left the business at 10 a.m.
