BIDDEFORD — The Biddeford wrestling team welcomed in Noble and Kennebunk on Wednesday evening for a tri-meet and the host Tigers came away with a split.

The Tigers dropped a tough 72-5 decision to Noble in their opening match and then cruised to a 60-21 win over Kennebunk in the finale.

Noble dominated the match with Biddeford as the Knights picked up pins in 11 of the 13 bouts they won.

Biddeford’s only bright spot in the match came at 132 pounds as Dwayne Dyer picked up a fall over Noble’s Joseph Langley.

The Tigers finished with just five team points due to an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Biddeford rebounded against Kennebunk with the Tigers taking advantage of four forfeits and six pins to secure the victory.

Picking up falls for the Tigers were David Cochrane at 126, Dyer at 132, Brandon Avery at 138, Dominick Day at 152, Mathieu Gagne at 170 and Chris Lantagne at 182.

Austin Gagne (106), Maleek Dias (113), Nick Ackerman (220) and Austin Burnham (285) all accepted forfeit wins for the Tigers.

Kennebunk had four wins in the match with Cole Dickinson (120), George Doe (160) and Pat Saunders (195) picking up falls and Cole Hallee (145) earning a decision.

Massabesic 56, York 12

Massabesic 59, Scarborough 18

The Mustangs won 13 matches by pin as they rolled to wins over York and Scarborough on Wednesday.

In the York match, Leo Amabile (106), Noah McGrath (126), David Phinney (132), Trevor Walton (195) and Mike Risti (285) all won by fall for Massabesic.

Also picking up wins in the York match for the Mustangs were Jeff Bryan, who had a technical fall at 113, and Zac Richard, who was a 4-1 winner at 160 pounds. Logan Martin (152), Austin Linteau (182) and Matt Carroll (220) received forfeits.

In the Scarborough contest, Amabile (106), McGrath (126), Phinney (132), Noah Schneider (170), Linteau (182), Carroll (195), Walton (220) and Risti (285) all won their bouts by pin.

Other winners for the Mustangs were Logan Martin by forfeit at 152 and Richard, who rolled to a 22-7 technical fall at 160 pounds.
