BRUNSWICK — CHANS Home Health Care and Hospice is offering a free grief support group, open to anyone in the community grieving the death of a loved due to overdose or substance abuse. The group meets from 3:30-5 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of the month at CHANS Hospice, located at 45 Baribeau Dr., Brunswick.
Substance abuse and overdose are one of the leading causes of death in people between the ages of 25 and 64 in the United States. Those left behind may have unique needs associated with feelings of shame, guilt, stigma, or even anger. This group is a forum for persons’ who have questions and feelings specific to losing someone to substance abuse or overdose.
